I think that video games are geared more towards males. Not all, but most little girls when growing up are more interested in barbies and playing dress up then playing video games. Video games mainly involve shooting people, dying, racing cars and other things that can be intimidating to girls. Boys like to be able to shoot people and drive cars really fast because they are things that they wish they could do in real life.
I remember when I was younger and i would play video games with my brother I would always be afraid to die. When we would play Mario on N64 I would refuse to go in the underwater level and the level that you have to beat Bowser because I didn’t want to get killed. It seems silly now because if you do die all you have to do is start over but for some reason it used to scare me.
I think that males are naturally better at video games than females. They have the ablilty to pick up a new game and instantly understand how to play and the object of the game. It usually takes girls longer to catch on and they are not usually as good. I know that this doesn’t go for all girls because there are many out there that are just as good as boys if not better. But I believe as a whole boys are better than girls at video games. I think it is because they are based on things that interest boys more than girls.

I love going home. I like being able to see my family and friends and especally my dog.It feels so good to sleep in my own bed. My mom cooks my favorite food and takes me shopping before i go back to school. I feel so comfortable when I am home with my family.
I love being up at school because I don’t have a curfew, I can do whatever I want whenever I want. I don’t have to do chores or anything else that I don’t want to do. I get to be an adult and make decisions on my own. When I do go home I feel like nothing has changed and that I am still in high school. I still have to call and check in and ask my parents if I can go some where. It is hard to go from having no rules to having a lot.
I love my parents very much but, I wish they would see that I am making good decisions on my own while I’m here and that they don’t need to be so strict anymore. I think that they need to realize that I am an adult now and that I don’t need them to protect me anymore. I appreciate all that they do for me but it is time for me to grow up and not be dependant on them anymore.

Barack Obama is a very good speaker. He knows how to talk to the crowd and tell them what they want to hear. He knew that the majority of the crowd would be college students so he talks about things that we are concerned about like our health care, alternative energy sources, getting our college paid for, and how he is going to help our economy. Obama made many different appeals though ethos, pathos, and logos. One appeal that stood out to me was when he said that we should all go out and vote. He used ethos because he is in a postion of authority. By stressing how important it is he hopes that he can influence us to vote.
He knows that we have a lot of concerns about our economy, the war, and other various things that are going on in the world today. He appeals to our emotions because he talks about the hard times a lot of people are facing right now and how he is going to fix them. He makes us feel like he really cares about us individually and that we can trust him to fix our problems.
I hope that if he is elected he will follow though with the things that he says. Politicians are known for not doing the things that they promise. I think that he has the ability to turn our economy around and do great things for our country. I am glad that I got the opportunity to go to the rally and be able to see him in person. It is not everyday you get to see a presidential candidate.

Some people believe that digital spaces “erase” color and gender. In the article by Bizarro she explains what it is like to have to hide the fact that she is mixed blood. She felt like she and other Native Americans had no voice their society. By dening her heritage she was not being true to herself.
Through digital spaces Bizarro would have been able to voice her opinion with out people judging her because she is Native American. Many people are quick to discriminate and judge others when it comes to race and gender. Being in a technological era we are able to say whatever we want to over the internet and no one can tell who we are, if we are male or female, or the color of our skin. This is good because then people can judge by what we say not by who we are.

When I was about ten years old my brother and I got a Nintendo 64 for Christmas. We were so excited that we went straight to the TV to play. Being a boy he caught on really fast but he had to teach me how to play. We had a lot of different games mostly sports but Mario was my favorite game and the only one I could play. At first I was really bad but after awhile I started to get better. He showed me what to do and all of the tricks to beating the game. I thought that it was the coolest thing ever.
I would consider my brother to be a literacy sponser because he taught me not only how to play Nintendo but many other things. I love having an older brother because he looks out for me. I never really liked playing Nintendo but I would play it because I wanted to be like my brother and I liked spending time with him. I wouldn’t say anything was ever at stake whether I learned how to play video games or not I’m sure I would still be the same as I am now. Little things like Nintendo helped my brother and I bond which has made us closer today.

The one piece of technology that I could not survive at MSU without would have to be my laptop. I got my laptop from my parents as a graduation present. They gave it to me because they knew that I would need it for college. I use my laptop every day whether it is to do homework, listen to music, e-mail, talk to my friends, play games or anything else that I need because it pretty much has everything.
All of my professors e-mail important things like assignments and they post things on Angel. It would be a really big hassle to have to go to the library or computer lab everytime I needed to check it. My laptop was built in wireless and since MSU has wireless internet I can go anywhere on campus and get on the internet. I can take my laptop to class to take notes with, check my E-mail or when I’m bored go on facebook. I chose not to take it because I know I would end up on Facebook the whole time and end up not paying attention.
Without my laptop I would not be able to keep in touch with a lot of my friends. Many of them live far away but I can still talk to them through Facebook, Myspace and AIM. I can look up people that I haven’t talked to in a long time. I think that Myspace and Facebook have gone a little overboard on all the applications which takes away from the main purpose if it.
I like a lot of different types of music so I have a lot of songs that I have downloaded. I probably have over ten thousand songs and it still runs fast. I also like to download movies. My laptop also has all of my pictures on it from family vacations to pictures of my friends and I. It is nice to have everything I need all in one place. I don’t know what I would do without my laptop so I am very thankful that I have one.
